Morel’s Restaurant has been part of the New Roads community since 1926. Set on beautiful False River and built over the water, the restaurant has spent generations doing the same few things well: welcoming people warmly, cooking Louisiana food with care, and offering a view that no one forgets.
The menu carries influences that reach well beyond the parish line — traditional Southern cooking and West Indies flavor, Asian fusion, and the decadence and sophistication of New Orleans. Every day brings numerous local specialties that never appear on the typical menu, cooked from whatever is best that morning.
Families who came here as children now bring their own. Neighbors gather at the same tables for birthdays, business lunches, and quiet Sunday afternoons. Visitors turn off the highway looking for lunch and leave with a story about the water outside the window.
